Council had an aged fleet of water meters and needed to complete a replacement program but were worried about time and cost to complete. Council was especially concerned about delivering the program in a cost-effective manner given the meters were in pits that had not been well maintained and were full of dirt.
New Plumbing Solutions proposed a solution to compress an annual replacement program into an 8-week project. New Plumbing Solutions proposed a detailed methodology which included using our specialist hydro excavation units to clean the meter pits prior to any replacement works being completed. To ensure Council maintained oversight of the program New Plumbing Solutions provided real time access to our specialist systems
Council was able to complete an extensive replacement program over 3 years by completing annual 8-week projects. This led to improved billing accuracy and therefore additional revenue to Council. Due to the efficient delivery methodology and the confidence in New Plumbing Solutions’ capabilities Council also extended the scope to include some complex commercial meter replacements which significantly improved billing accuracy.
