With a commitment to the safe supply of drinking water to its community, the water authority employed NPS to conduct audits of 1100 non-residential properties to ensure the presence and legal conformity of containment backflow prevention devices.
The water authority had minimal to no data on the legal conformity of 1100 sites, and therefore couldn’t be confident that they were upholding their commitment to providing safe drinking water to their community. They were aware they had non-compliant sites and needed to identify which sites these were in order to budget and plan for rectification works.
For several weeks NPS audited all 1100 sites to confirm the presence, correct installation and operation of the backflow device/s on site. We conducted backflow tests on all devices located and provided compliance reports to the authority. We also provided a detailed report of findings, hazard ratings and recommendations to rectify non-compliant sites.
We provided the asset data for all sites back to the water authority. This enabled them to budget and plan for repair works to achieve the ultimate outcome of compliant sites and safe drinking water for their community.
