Victorian University; Asset capture and Planned Maintenance Programme
The University had 11 campuses with minimal records on asset, asset types, asset condition and asset longevity.
The Problem:
The University had 11 campuses with minimal to no data on their assets. As a result, they had no planned maintenance programme or annual budget. The University were seeking verification of the minimal asset data they had, as well as capturing all remaining assets in order to build a planned maintenance programme with annual costings. This had to be completed within 3 months of contract commencement.
The Solution:
Utilising our asset capture technology, NPS audited all 11 campuses, recording a series of 25 data fields requested by the University for 18 different asset categories, including GPS locations and barcoding.
The Outcome:
We verified the 400 assets the university had and got these records updated with additional fields. We also captured over 2000 assets that the University had no data on. Based on the asset data, we were able to build the University a Planned Maintenance Programme with an annual budget. We have just completed the first year of this programme and been able to repair or replace all defective assets. The University now have a complete asset system in the requested format (excel), with all assets up to date and compliant. The planned programme is achieving the desired outcome of reducing reactive callouts.
